For Harry! Wouldn't You Know!

I am the sonnet, never quickly thrilled;
Not prone to overstated gushing praise
Nor yet to seething rants and anger, filled
With overstretched opinions to rephrase;
But on the other hand, not fond of fools,
And thus, not fond of people, on the whole;
And holding to the sound and useful rules,
Not those that seek unjustified control.
I'm balanced, measured, sensible (at least,
I think I am, and usually I'm right);
And when more ostentatious types have ceased,
I'm still around, and doing, still, alright.
In short, I'm calm and rational and stable -
Or, well, I am, as much as I am able.

Rita--first I wanted to thank you for your sweet comment on my blog about my Dad. Sometimes it overwhelms me how much I miss him. An article I wrote was supposed to be in the latest issue of BIMI World magazine, but a guy at the mission said they ran out of room, so they just posted his obituary with his photo.

Also, I want to say I agree with you about the guns. Guns don't kill people...people kill people.

When we lived in Sao Paulo, we had a night guard that walked up and down the street all night. It was nothing for us to hear gunfire on numerous occasions. There were many times that they would jump the fence (even with barbed wire at the top) and run through our yard. Very scary!

Anyway, you go on and post your feelings without apology! I always look forward to reading your blog!

I played and here's mine:

I'm terza rima, and I talk and smile.
Where others lock their rhymes and thoughts away
I let mine out, and chatter all the while.

I'm rarely on my own - a wasted day
Is any day that's spent without a friend,
With nothing much to do or hear or say.

I like to be with people, and depend
On company for being entertained;
Which seems a good solution, in the end.

I did this after a long day yesterday(many home school Field Day Prep Stuff) and ended up with an embarrassing poem. I was a'wishy washy' poem.
So either I am or I will do it again...I can't make headway on what I should do!?:)
I can't decide!
Thanks for the fun post!!
