We've passed a health care plan written by a committee whose chairman says he doesn't understand it, passed by a Congress that exempts themselves from it, to be signed by a president who smokes, with funding administered by a treasury chief who didn't pay his taxes, all to be overseen by a surgeon general who is obese, and financed by a country that's broke.
What could possibly go wrong?".

I've been waiting for your comment! I'm a lurker of several years now - maybe I've commented before, but I don't remember. Part of why I added your blog to my favorites is for your take on what's going on in our country - because I have never been "up" on politics, but you've lived through a lot. The other reason I like your blog is to see a "real, live" missionary opening the doors to the real life jungle living! I appreciate your blog in all respects. Congrats on your new granddaughter! Look on the bright side...from now on there will be little difference between the care we get in Latin America and the care we will get in the US. That's gotta be worth something, right? Right?
