I miss them...

 Jungle Mom the absentee blogger

I miss  the interaction I used to have on this blog. These days, I am lucky to have time to jot something new down on a fairly regular basis. There was a day when I would be able to visit many blogs and leave comments. This in turn meant that those bloggers would visit and do likewise.

Since moving to Ciudad del Este and begining a new church plant, I have not been able to get around to all the blogs I used to read on a daily basis. Also, since we are working with people here, I do not feel at liberty to  write much about that or what we are doing in the ministry. I feel I should protect their privacy and I would not want them to think they are merely BLOG FODDER, so to speak. They are precious people that I enjoy interacting with and I am blessed to have them all in my life, but I wont be writing  anything about them except in a very general way.

Which brings me back to the title of this post... other bloggers and their comments, I miss them! And I miss some commenters who do not have their own blogs but used to regularly leave comments here at The Jungle Hut.

People like: Z, The Beak,   The Merry Widow, Papa Frank, Serendip, Speedy G, Big Girl Pants, and of course, all of my expat bloggers spread across the globe! I also miss the regular comments from people like Gringo who seems to get my sense of humor more than anyone else.

So, if you are out there reading this... how about a comment for old times sake? Or if you are a new reader, please introduce yourself!

Even feel free to ask a question about anything at all. Yes, anything at all, and I will do my best to give you an answer.

It is amazing how a simple comment can be so encouraging. I am ashamed I don't comment more often. Not only do I read your blog every time there is a new post, but I also frequently link to your blog from my facebook.

Thank you for keeping up with your blog.

I too get busy, Rita. I sometimes read and quickly go on to other things, but I enjoy your writings. I have great admiration for you and Clint and the work to which God has called you. One day I pray God would give me the funds to see your ministry. I do hope your visit to the States next summer will allow us to connect with you. Love you and Clint and pray for you often.

Hey there! I'm still here. We did move away from the church where we were that supported you (moved to TN from SC), but I am still reading. :-) I understand about being wise and cautious in what you share about the people you're currently working with.

If I'm reading something here that seems like a repeat of what you've posted before, I usually just skim through it.

Some of my best blogging friends have dropped off both in blogging and commenting. I think comments in general have slowed. I think we all struggle with balance between blogging and "real life." I've had to pare down what I read numerous times because of too much time spent at the computer when I need to be doing things at home.

I read your blog, but I keep in touch with you on FB. :)

The only blog posts of yours I skip is when you talk about eating worms in Venezuela. I feel like I'm going to gag, just looking at the photo! Blech!

This is the second time I've visited your blog (from Women of the Harvest.) I'm on the other side of the world, in the Middle East, but it is fun to connect with people closer to my husband's home, El Salvador.

Blessings to you blog. I get what you're saying about not writing personal stories. I wrote a personal story about my Turkish sister, but I asked her to read and approve it first. Haven't done that often...

I am a new reader. Your post directed to young missionary moms was a huge encouragement to me the other day, so thank you! I enjoy your blog, keep it up!

I just posted on my blog the reasons I haven't been able to post the last two months. I now have a new understanding of Missionaries and their time. It is only 7 here in Loja but feels like 10.Love your blog.

Let's hear it for comments and ex-pat blogging community! By the way I adore that photo of your eyes. What a fun angle.

Hi Rita, I do miss your visits/comments though I still come by here from time to time...but not as often. Think many of our lives are changing for different reasons and it's having the same effect. Hope you're well!

Oh Rita, where to begin?

I used to read and comment in lots of blogs! -that's how I 'met' you-. At the moment I kind of had a computer based small business, so I expended plenty of time in front of the monitor, hehe.

Now, I just do the Facebook thingy. I still read your posts thou.

So hang in there! we still like your writing.

Some of my friends have told me that they can't leave a comment on my blog. I can't seem to figure out why. I am also on blogger. If you know why, please let me know!

You nailed the sentiment with the phrase "blog fodder." It's tough at times to write and describe without being cheesy and a user.

It's a good thing to be steeped in your effort there but I do understand your missing the interaction.

I have been reading for a while as a silent partner. I totally understand what you are saying. I have been on the mission field in the mountains of Nicaragua and Honduras, and am currently in Minneapolis because of family illness. I found I did not want to "tell all" about those I worked with because of privacy issues, yet whatever else I wrote about (in my letters-- I don't have a blog) was simply my daily circle activities and didn't seem interesting. I get homesick for my post, and read all the missionary blogs I can. Please keep writing!

I have loved following your blog. Met your daughter in 05 and enjoy getting to know them very much.
For following blogs, have you ever used a feed reader like google reader? it lets you know when a blog is updated so you dont have to go and look every day. Hope that helps.
