A Miracle ~ Nine Years ago today

Johnny Vernoy, my nephew, before accident - 22 months.

Oct.4,2001 Johnny fell into the "tanque de agua" in the backyard in Venezuela. He had no vital signs when he got to the clinic. He was revived and sent to Children's Hospital in Barquisimeto, Venezuela. where he remained for a month until released.

Home from the hospital. Johnny's a little big and hard to handle because of his involuntary movements that he had due to cerebral damage. Janelle, his sister, didn't care. She begged to hold him!

Clint, Jayde, and Jason are feeding Johnny. It took 3 people to feed Johnny at first - 1 to hold his head, 1 to hold his arms, and 1 to feed him. We were blessed to be able to come out of the jungle to help.

Jeanah bottle feeds Johnny. She's his second mommy.

Due to the lack of oxygen during the drowning, Johnny suffered cerebral damage and had to relearn everything...even to hold his cup!

Four months later...Johnny can feed himself!

Six months later, Johnny is walking on his own!

2010 ~ Johnny with his best friend, Joshua!

We thank God for allowing us to  witness this miracle.
Our family will never be the same and we will forever be grateful for God's tender mercy towards us.

This is just one more proof that we have a loving God.

God bless Johnny and all who had faith to help him through the difficult times.

How wonderful for the great outcome of this terrible tragedy. Sadly, most don't do that well.

Thanks for sharing this Rita. We remember praying for him and I've thought about him through the years but always forget to ask you about him. Praise the Lord!
