Climate Changes

I just returned from a quick trip to a family wedding where my husband was officiating the ceremony. It was beautiful and all went well.

Unfortunately, my back is not cooperating with all the travel, which is problematic since I have a long flight scheduled for this week end. So I am spending the day in pain, in bad, and in a foul mood.

Let's be real!

How depressing is it to have a bad back and strap on one of those thermal heating patches...only to have to rip it off every fifteen minutes because your 'hormonal fluctuations', known as menopause, cause you to experience 'personal summers', known as hot flashes!!! So I keep bumping the thermostat down a bit...

And my family is walking around wearing gloves and parkas with stocking hats! I get global warming, they get the new ice age!

Feel better soon, from both afflictions.

I'm so sorry about your back! Hope you get some relief!

My husband says I keep the house like a meat locker. When the boys complain it is cold (while wearing short-sleeved t-shirts) I tell them they can always put more on -- there is only so much I can take off to get cool!

Will pray your back heals so you can comfortably make the flight to

It's a pain being your own weather maker, try taking;
Nature's way Change-O-Life, calcium, evening primrose oil and use wild yam and black cohosh creme. They have fewer side effects AND don't get you into the artificial hormones. And stay away from aspirin for a few years.
When you are past it, it's like you have a new lease on life!
Good morning, G*D bless and Maranatha!

For what it's worth, if you can get through this, you'll feel better than ever on the other side, Rita. At least that is the case for me. I also find sugar and sweets used to trigger powerful hot flashes for what it's worth.

So sorry to hear about your back. Maybe you will have some time to think up some more interesting posts to keep us all entertained :)

I will add suggestions to those natural remedies for your climate control problems. Flax and sesame seed. They take that a lot here and I have found it to be helpful, particularly with my mood swings.

whew, that sux. Try ice on your back. I had a broken, then fused, neck and need to use ice to stop the muscle spasms. I NEVER would've tried it before but it's WONDERful.

I'm so sorry! I'm having back problems again too and have a hot rice bag on my back as I write.
It's is the only thing that helps me.
I hope you are feeling better before the weekend.

I have to say I got a tickle out of your descriptions on menopause.

My wife has been having hot flashes for years. They will kill me before they do her. She will turn on the airconditioning in the house when it is below freezing outside!

I think it was Mrs. Who who said, "What if there is no such thing as PMS, and this is my real personality?"
