Elvis is Alive!

Elvis is Alive !

For I have seen him! Walking around in the jungle! I swear,it's true!

It happened one day as I was washing dishes.

Yekwanaman proclaimed loudly. "Elvis is in the house!"

I turned around as he opened the door to allow a Sanema indian gentleman to enter the Jungle Hut, and yes, it WAS Elvis! For this man had incredibly full side burns, which indian men do not have! And, he had greased his hair up into a remarkably Elvis-esque pompadour! But , to top it all off, he wore a baby blue, polyester leisure suit jacket over his loin cloth!

Lest you think we found this funny, nothing could be further from the truth! For this particular gentleman had such a presence that, quite frankly, he pulled the look off!!! The last thing one would be inclined to do would be to laugh or belittle him!

He was Awesome ! I wish I had asked to take his photo and for an autograph, for we never saw him again!

Oh, my, I'd have loved to see that! Did he sing??

We have a friend in Wichita who does Elvis shows - and others as well, but Elvis is his favorite. He does a great job.

Your previous post is extremely troubling! What is wrong with this picture anyway???

Hmmmmm...he still plays here at our local music hall about twice a year. He's lookin' pretty good, I must say.

Wonder what he was doin' in the jungle? Cool that he dropped in to say hi!!

Hey off topic, but I did check out By Grace, and no, that is a different church. I attended Pleasant View WELCOME in Travelers Rest. The one she mentioned was in Taylors, S.C. near Boulevard Christian where we all 3 attended when younger.
It was so neat though Rita, looking at the history of that church on their website. It mentions Jack Manly, Harold Sightler, Clyde Billingsly, Maze Jackson, etc. and even mentions supporting a Tabernacle Baptist in Tampa, FL!! I had so much fun reading it.

Are you really in S.C. this weekend? Oh is it the wedding? I read your comment at Beth's! No wonder you didn't answer your phone yesterday.

I have to disagree with you that Elvis is in the jungle......he is actually in the fourth row middle pew of our church. It is true - see him every Sunday. hahahahahahha I am kidding of course, but we do have an Elvis impersonator who goes to our church - I always find it funny when he comes to church right after an appearance.....you should see the stares!

I have enjoyed reading your blog! Found you through Michael at Oleh Musings.

I was absolutely in love with Elvis as a little girl. I had to listen to one of his records every night when I went to sleep. Until the day he died. Then I didn't listen to them for the longest time. But I have some of his songs on my iPod now. Gotta listen to the king! LOL

Due to job commitments, my brother and his wife could not come to our sister's wedding. Instead, they had a surprise wedding gift: an Elvis impersonator at the wedding reception. The guy looked like Elvis, and he had a good singing voice. We all appreciated my brother's and sister-in-law's gift.
