Thank Goodness for my Laptop!!!

SO... here I am, down with my back. I am rather frustrated as I have so much I need to do, so much I want to do, but...here I am.

Stuck!!!

At least with my laptop I can blog in bed.

I am trying not to get discouraged but I am a little worried about how I will be able to do all the travel required of us in the next few months. Sitting in a car for long hours is a sure way for me to end up bed ridden for a few days. I am looking forward to visiting all the people who have prayed and helped us in the ministry in Venezuela. Please pray that I will be able to do so.

I don't feel like I should have a bad back, I forget my limitations at times and that is usually what causes me to end up this way. I have already had two back surgeries and do not want another!

Yesterday the pain had built up to a level that was nearly intolerable with sciatica as well. I ended up at the doctors office, barely able to walk. She prescribed some muscle relaxers and pain meds and they seem to be helping quite a bit, but I am foggy in the head! So if I write something too crazy, please forgive me!

I had a blessing this morning. The phone rang and it was Florinda Eddings. She is an 87 year old retired missionary. She and her husband, Cedric, lived and worked with the Ye'kwana Indians back in the 70's. Here is a photo of her teaching the first young men of the village ever to learn to read and write.

She called to let me know that even though she does not have internet, a friend of hers copies and mails her my blog each day!!!! I am glad that she gets to read it and see all the pictures. Many of the Indians I know as adults, and even elderly, are ones she knew as children and teens. If not for her help during a very bad epidemic of measles , many of them would not be alive today.

I am so glad she is enjoying the stories and pictures!

"I understand your pain." That's more than just a bad quote. My back has been giving me fits all week. Hurts sitting, standing and very much walking. But it is slowly getting better. I will send you that virtual repair glue ( refered to in my blog ) along with actual prayers for relief.

Feel Better

How wonderful to hear from this wonderful woman! Praise the Lord for people like her, and for people like you! You're in my prayers Rita.

Sciatica has got to be something devised in Hell for the special torments section! How it seeped out of there I don't know! But it is enough to make you want to die...ice helps me.
And if you can keep your knee above your hips...
What a blessing to hear from that dear lady! And I'm sure she is blessed to know that those she took to her heart are going Home too. Knowing their doings I'm sure warms her heart!

Jungle Mama: I shall pray that your back problems will be healed. I know how bad back and hip pain can be, as I still have shrapnel in my left hip and lower back, which I received during a mortar attack on one of our refugee camps in Vietnam. When ever there is going to be a change in the weather, my hip and lower back let me know. Then my sinuses start in and it is a regular Hoot nanny going on.

while traveling around, if you need a chiropractor while in the upstate of SC let me know! I know of two that I should get you in to see in a "pinch".

Pain is not fun...no matter what part of the body it comes from.

I love those that have gone down the road before us....they are to be honored!

I am so sorry about your back! Hope you're feeling better soon.

I did get the Christmas ideas e-mail, thank you! My computer won't let me open the attachment without installing some new Microsoft updated stuff. I will either do that later today or e-mail it to my son to convert to a file I can read and send back to me.

Iam so sorry Rita, I know how horrible a bad back can be. It is only since I have really tried to remember my limitations that my back has been better but now I have a bad hip, Sometimes I think being old is the very pitts.lol

Hope your back is better soon. It is something that takes it own time no matter what we have to do. I hope the pain is better soon. connie from Texas
