Well, that certainly made this spoiled, pampered, burb-living American grateful for what he's got. I do have to be reminded sometimes.

I admire your strength and the strength of your Ye'kwana neighbors. Sometimes I think living has been made too easy for us in the States. We don't appreciate what those who came before us had to do just to survive, let alone build what we have now.

Don't you just love it when Blogger goes nuts?? I know how frustrating that is. It happens to me more often than I'd like.

This was a great post. I love the pictures. Thanks for sharing.

Hey, I left a comment here that would end world hunger, cure aids in Africa, end ethnic cleansing all over the world, cure cancer, help me in my mid-terms, and win the lotto. Where did that comment go?

Incredible! My son-in-law was raised as a missionaries kid in Mexico. The first time he came to our house he video taped the entire house. We live in a very modest ranch. My bedroom really needed redecorating. He walking in, taped the room, and said, "My mom would LOVE a room like this." Sometimes we forget how very blessed we are on this earth. One man's hut IS another man's mansion. Thanks for sharing this wonderful story.
