Tech Support
Two weeks ago, my son arrived from the states and brought me my brand new, very own laptop! It was a combined anniversary, Mother's Day gift from Hubby and an offering from our home church in New Hampshire! I love it!
Unfortunately, Saturday afternoon, it crashed!
Fortunately, It came with a tech support number to call. I managed to respond correctly to all the recorded computer questions and was eventually connected with a real live person!!
Unfortunately, He was in India.
Fortunately, Once I got used to his accent, he walked me through some steps to try and re boot the computer.
Unfortunately, I had already tried them all and...nothing worked!
Fortunately, I have a warranty!
Unfortunately, It took me ten minutes to get him to figure out why I could not go to the local dealer and pick up new discs!
Fortunately, There is a store on Caracas!
Unfortunately, I don't live in Caracas! "OH! And wait ,one moment ma'am! That store closed down a few months ago"!
Fortunately, He can send me new discs!
Unfortunately, "UH...it seems the courier service is not working at this time to Venezuela. Are you aware that there are "violent riots" in the streets of Caracas"?!?!?!
So...I have to wait 3 weeks until I get back to the states to take care of the problem.
Oh, well! Back to 6 people sharing one computer!

Very funny, I remember that book! And I'll be waiting to read more once you get the computer (fortunately) fixed.
where do you find all these hilarious pictures?? Apparently all tech support originates in India nowadays. Sorry you can't use your new laptop!
Aw...that stinks, Rita! Oh well...FORTUNATELY, you have a nice husband!
Care to share what your PC brand is?
I can recommend you to get an IBM (now Lenovo) ThinkPad next time.
3 year warranty and virtually indestructible plus top tech support.
What's the problem exactly? Maybe I can suggest a workaround. I am quite used to troubleshooting PCs for friends and family...
Sire, It seems I need to re boot but do not have the discs here. If that is not the problem they will replace the hard drive. my problem is getting them here. It is a Compaq. ( I know, I know)
Ohhh, that's too bad. You seem to have a good attitude about it. It was so sweet of your home church and hubby to get you such a nice gift. I'm sure once you get your discs, it will run GREAT! How long will you be home? Will you be going to different states? Or are you just coming home for a while? I'm sure Pam is on pins and needles to see you.

Actually, Compaq is owned by H P now. They're very good computers. I guess this one just had some bad gliche in it.

I cracked up over "are you aware that there are violent riots in the streets of Caracas?" Are you aware!!!! LOL That part was funny, but the trouble you're having is not funny.
Oh, how I feel your pain! Been there, done that, and still have the problem. lol. Next time, I'm going to ask, "Where is your customer service for this product?" It used to be that cost was my main concern. Not anymore! You poor dear. I will pray the time goes by quickly. :)
That picture reminds me of when I was a child. "You want to cry? I'll give you something to cry about!" LOL.
aaaAAARGH.....I feel your pain...so the guy in India...that is it's own dilemna.....WHY .....
another American Job lost...

Yes those guys in India sure can be fun to talk to!
I had to laugh at the "he was in India" part. Once I had to get some tech support and the same thing happened. First I had Ron, then I got Dan, then I got John. Finally I said to him, "You can't tell me your name is really John." He laughed and said, "Oh, no, you could not say my real name but the boss says that for you Americans, we must pick little short 3 letter names so you can say them. I picked J-O-N, Jon."
What can I say? :-)

Gotta love outsourcing!! Once you get your problem explained, you are exhausted!!! I am sure most people just give up!!!
"Hello, Mam, my computer tells me you live in a dangerous area nd we cannot help you. Do you know of these violence??"

I'm glad you can find humor in your predicament! Very funny way of communicating it to us!
I love you. You're a good person.
Give it a try once you get the recovery discs.
Changing the hard drive should be avoided unless it's mechanically defect - you'll lose all the data or have somebody recover them, which is expensive.
