You can take the boy out of the Jungle...

But, can you take the jungle out of the BOY?????

My son killed this snake for me a few days ago. He used his little knife he keeps by his bedside. The snake was sunning on our porch and he knew it would give me a fright to open the door and see it there. (Sorry, Glenn!)

And then I found him outside playing with his new toy....

He made himself a blow gun!!!
( all you need is some PVC pipe, electrical tape,
plumber's putty and a plastic cap for the mouth piece.
Use wooden skewers for shish kabobs as the darts. )

Cool. I love that boys are allowed to be boys so they can grow up to be men!

Love the creativity!

Must have him teach scouts...they need a good leader who has experienced the jungle!

I have to say that the blow gun is very cool but snakes are not!! I would have ran for the hills if I would have seen it and it wasn't even that big! :-)

I just love it when my son comes to my rescue. Even the small things like getting rid of snakes or a bug, is special to a mothers heart.

OH NO!!! how come you have snakes on your porch!!!

That's one my reasons to live in an apartment... no snakes or any reptiles for me (sorry, Glenn).

And do tell.. what does he use his blowgun for?

Better be careful or some parenting group will picket you for rearing a violent man.

Good for you!

I love that blow gun. My two older boys used to make them out of bamboo fishing poles that they would but at K-Mart for a couple of dollars. After making the blow guns, they would sell them to their friends for about four dollars. They could get two blow guns from one bamboo fishing pole.

Boys will be boys.

Boys will be boys, and kill snakes for their moms, but if it had been me I would probably have at least tried it grilled after killing it.

Sure I keep em, collect, breed em, all as a hobby, but I have eaten em to; although I just say I have never eaten that type. I think it was a black racer, but really am none to sure.

Whatever it was, it was better to have around to kill of vermin. Snakes do a wonderful job of pest control. Leave em alone and they usually do the same for you.
