The Things I see...

Virtual Friends

Recently I was able to meet up with two friends. We met each other through blogging. Kathy comments often and reisdes in Curacao but comes to Paraguay every year to visit family. Christie arrived in Paraguay about the same time that I did but lives a few hours away and we do not often see each other.

My husband refers to my online friends as my imaginary friends, well, we three amigas recently met each other for lunch at the mall here in Asuncion, which proves we are not imaginary friends at all, but rather,  friends  in deed!

Here we have the three little amigas enjoying a piece of America at Burger King!

That is so amazing and wonderful. True friends have been made this way. I have been so privileged to meet 9 of my "imaginary" friends, and all because we just "happened" to be in the position to get together and we made it work. God has blessed this avenue of information!

I have, from time to time, been able to arrange meetings with people who I initially came into contact with on the internet. They have always been really good people and that's one of the best things about blogging. I'd never have met them otherwise.

That's neat Rita that you were able to do that! Can you believe that one of my "imaginary friends" from Texas was just here for Christmas, visiting her parents in Sun City. She stopped by our district park to meet another blogger who was visiting Ocala. My park was there half way meeting point! To think she was only 5 min. from my house and I didn't get to meet her makes me just want to cry!

I remember how surreal that first meeting was at Brenda's house last year. Like y'all were all movie stars that didn't really exist--my imaginary friends. So to hear your actual voices and see your faces! Man, unreal! Now when I read the blogs, I hear your voices in the words. Cool.

It was fun to see y'all at the mall. Gotta do it again soon.
