Saturday Morning Cartoons!

This is Jungle Mom on a diet...

I have been on the Cabbage Soup Diet this week.( Cabbage Soup Diet Reviews) I am sick to death of the smell of cabbage and may never eat it again in my life, but it is working! So, dieting being very much on my mind this week, here are a few diet tips for you all.

1) Get a doctor's approval before beginning any diet!

2) Be accountable to someone for your caloric intake!

3) Don't worry too much!

4) Be sure to eat plenty of vegetables!

5) Experiment with new recipes!

6) Don't weigh yourself AT ALL!

7) If you feel you must weigh, use this method only!

8) Remember to exercise!

9) Take advantage of any exercise equipment available to you!

10)It helps to own a gun!

But all joking aside, I am proud to announce that I have manged to lose over 30lbs since Christmas and am actually lower than my pre-furlough weight. That would be pre- furlough #5 weight. I do not think I will ever see pre- furlough #1 weight, as that was 110lbs and, well, it just
aint gunna happen!

Do you have a diet or exercise tip you wish to share with us?

I'm partial to cabbage, but not for a whole week.

Once I did the cabbage diet. It does work and I hope it gets you to where you want.

Two days into the diet I made my last batch of cabbage soup. It was cooking when some nasty strain of the flu took over my body.

The house smelled like cabbage soup and I thought I was going to die. No change that, I hoped I was going to die.

I cannot smell cabbage soup today without getting a little quesy. It is the only thing, beside kid drool, in the world that does this. The current administration comes close.

30 pounds since Christmas is an outstanding success in dieting. I'm losing weight too, mainly by walking more that the good weather has come, and not eating fast food or snack food. But I'm not doing as well as you have.

GOOD FOR YOU!! THIRTY POUNDS is fantastic!!

I did that cabbage soup diet once and thought I'd suggest something:
one day, take some out and add cilantro...another day, add some curry.....it kind of helped me. Made it taste different..!
I even added some lean ground turkey and that worked diet-wise just as well...I actually NEED some protein for the weight to come off.

Actually, I could lose five pounds and I LOVE that soup (for a week) so maybe I'll do it again..thanks for the inspiration! xx And, again, CONGRATS!!

Rita, way to go! 30 pounds since December if fantastic.

When I lose weight, I follow the Weight Watchers program, it is a good program, basically a balanced diet and exercise, I walk for my exercise, because everything else is boring to me. But when I walk a mile from home I have to walk the other mile to get back home, no matter how bored I get! ;)

Wow! That's great! Why is it when I'm losing , you gain, When I gain, you lose!???

Way to go Rita! :) I've started the cabbage soup diet a few times, but never could finish it! My best diet tip (only works when I FOLLOW it!) is to make sure I exercise every day!!! Also, when you feel like you MUST cheat, to find something to munch on like that one cartoon suggests: "low-everything!" :) I like air-popped popcorn, sprayed with butter Pam and different seasonings! (I have a microwave dish for air popping popcorn that I bought at Target. It works very well!)

Thirty pounds is very good.It is especially good because in your situation as a minister's wife, you are placed into many food situations that you wouldn't otherwise, necessitating even more self-discipline.

I eat a lot of cabbage- and like it- and am still overweight, so cabbage is helpful but not sufficient.
The kicker is getting more exercise. Like the ad says, DO IT, but I do not.

Liked your cartoons.

my diet tip.

keep a firm handle on your scale...whenever it acts up remind it that the LAST scale to misbehave is now laying in the backyard in tiny little bits and pieces....and I STILL have the sledgehammer!
