Jungle Golf

Golf on the Air Strip

The Founding Members of

"The Chajuraña Country Club"

My husband started this tradition of golfing on our airstrip. Soon, we had pilots dropping in to 'drive' a few of their own. We even had Chajuraña Country Club T-shirts made up for all the 'members'. The main event was the Semana Santa Open ( Easter Week).

Nick, these fotos were taken about 12 years ago. I have some more recent ones, but am scanning old fotos so put these up.

Looks like fun. What is it about golf? They got crazy about it on LOST too. Build a golf course and people just go nuts. LOL

Wow. Twelve years. That's a long time. LOL. Is that how long you folks have been down there?

Nick,
We were there for 20 years. We are on furlough right now and will be relocating to Paraguay this summer. we were expelled from the jungle by President Hugo Chavez. Accused of being CIA, mining for uranium, blah, blah, blah...If you look into my archives under JUNGLE, read the article "This had been our Home" for the story in more detail.

pb, welcome! I bet you have too. LOL! The problem with airstrip golf is you have to keep playing the same holes over and over.

Hey I've got some golfing videos I'll have to get to you...maybe I can upload them onto You Tube.

I'll send out a new set of those photos to you too.

We've been doing March Madness Mission month with lots of churches! We're at 56%! We've got a website if you'd like to check it out, but we don't update it as much as you... we're more like Clint
