My kitchen

More of my amazing house in Paraguay!

Welcome to my kitchen!

The baskets above the cabinets are all made by the Ye'kwana indians.
There is also a small wooden bench which was made by a Sanema indian.

The china cabinet is a built in left by the owner.
The table was made by my husband in the jungle.
It is made of cedar.

He cut the tree, milled the planks, and built the table.
This table represent our family life as we ate, played games,
did school work and had many a meal with friends sitting at this table!

(You can also see my laundry on the line through the door)

The mess in the corner is my 'spot'.
This is where I keep my home school materials
as well as my Scrap booking supplies.

I also write many blog posts in this corner!

The kitchen and dining room in The Jungle Hut!

My husband's pride and joy!
This coffee maker was a gift from a supporting church and it gets plenty of use!
I wish you all could come and sit in my kitchen with me to share a cup of coffee!

What do you suppose we might chat about??

Love the tour! We too have a table with two benches and chairs.

Neat that you have such a cozy warm home to enjoy!

What a beautifully inviting kitchen! Perfect for chats with friends. :o)

If I could sit with you in your kitchen, you know I'd be picking your brain about homeschooling, and swapping stories about our different experiences on the mission field.

What a cozy kitchen. I love all the home made things.
I'd like to see the table hubby made without the cloth on it. I'm so impressed.

Such a lovely kitchen! What a blessing! And I love the table-a place of fellowship and joy, and a piece of family history.

The place looks huge! The table is probably very gorgeous underneath the cloth, too. It's modest. :]

ShyAsrai,
You know I would love to sit with you! Many a Catholic have sat at my tale for some great talks. Including my husband's favorite aunt. In South America most everyone is Catholic, certainly all my neighbors are.

I forgot to tell you what we would probably chat about- Hmm so much, we both have four children, love our husbands dearly, we love the Lord, have both lived in countries aside from the US, both have children who have been born outside the US, our husbands have served our country honorably, we both are vertically challenged, we both adapt to whatever situation presented, love to read, homeschool our children,

sigh...it has been wonderful to get to know you in blogand! Some day perhaps you may visit the Double Nickel or I your home...and see if we have anything to speak about!

I LOVE your house! and I'm on my way for the coffee. We'll talk about how you raised your girls and how mine is doing and you can calm my fears about potty training. Then you can laugh at my Spanish a bit and I'll make you my famous strawberry coffee cake.

I love your kitchen, so practical.
Quite a difference from the jungle hut. God is good!
Wish I could come and share that cup of coffee, bet that machine makes a mean cup of java!

A gorgeous kitchen -- and one that says, "Welcome, friends"!

Mine is certainly not nearly as nice or even as functional.

"The time has come," the Walrus said,
"To talk of many things:
Of shoes--and ships--and sealing-wax--
Of cabbages--and kings--
And why the sea is boiling hot--
And whether pigs have wings."

OF COURSE that's what we'd talk about! Did I ever tell you I had a dream about you??...nah, I won't tell...it MIGHT come true, what a joy that would be.
