Missionary Moment

"Never pity missionaries; envy them. They are where the real action is-where life and death, sin and grace, Heaven and Hell converge." -Robert C. Shannon

I have been blessed to be a missionary for most of my adult life. I can't imagine having lived any differently  and do find it to be a rewarding life styl. At times it may be challenging and lonely, but never dull!

I know I have several foreign missionary readers , what are some of the blessings and benefits of  your vocation and ministry?

I only have to work one day per week and there is nothing good on TV Sunday anyway.

I love that quote! It's awesome!

For me, there's nothing like building a relationship with someone and seeing them make a decision to follow Christ. There's nothing like seeing real life change. I love seeing the power of God at work in those who don't know Him.

That's the reason why I do it... but I am also a big fan of all the awesome stories--although, not so much at the time they happen!

It´s good to know you feel that way. Sometimes we do pity the missionary´s but now I know I don´t have to.

Yes it is an exciting road.
For me its being in a place with freedom - where we can make a tangeable and practical difference in peoples lives and using it all to point them to Jesus.
" Working for a Boss who loves us and investing in a kingdom that cannot be shaken " - not too many folk have that as part of their job description.
We feel blessed and thankful to be part of His plans here and see His hand so many times and knowing its despite us - not because of us yet He still chooses to involve us.. its humbling and amazing ! Thats adventure.

You don't have to wonder whether you wasted your life doing things without purpose.

Plus you get to have lots of adventures, see interesting places, know and be known by amazing people and eat good food.

Growing up as a missionary kid had it's challenges and I never thought I would consider it an option to become one myself. However now that I'm in my mid twenties and have been blessed to find God in my own journey, I am starting to realize that this may very well be my calling. I'm still in prayer about this and am anxiously excited about what He may have in store in the years to come! God bless you!

amen to that sister,
If not because a person like you and your husband, I would never know who is Jesus and what is grace!
May God bless you for what you have done :-)

Doing what God made me for-seeing Him work-knowing Him better. It's amazing to get to know people from other countries and cultures and recognize the Spirit of Christ. It's wonderful to see God work on a soul and see transformation. Mostly, I'm thrilled to be doing exactly what God made me for, and I can know and love Him more doing it.

JP and JH-you both made me cry-God bless you!
