Our Trip

We made a trip to Ciudad del Este last week and I wanted to share some photos with you all.

I took this picture from Paraguay. You can see Argentina across the river to the right and Brazil to the left. (The infamous Tri border Area, lol!)

Waiting for the barge. Good time to catch up on some reading.

Finally, here comes the barge!

On the river. Leaving Paraguay, half way between Brazil and Argentina. The river seemed small to us as we are used to the Orinoco and crossing at
Caicara, Venezuela

Jungle Mom on the barge. I have no idea what I was looking at!!!!

Jungle Mom and Ye'kwana Man on the barge as we cross over to Argentina.

I simply cannot understand the lack of bridges... do they not have them because the government would set up customs stations and the smuggling would be forced to move "somewhere else"?

There is a bridge in CdE that leads to Foz,Brazil, but as you can see, the territory is wide open and isolated.

You are looking so good Rita! I can really see how much weight you´ve lost! Looks like a fun trip. Never done that before!

Great pics! Thanks for posting them. Makes me want to watch The Mission again...too bad it's back in the States. {sigh}

Nice pictures. That ferry is small, comparatively speaking - looks like it carries maybe 6 cars tops.

Beautiful country down that way!

Was it a vacation trip? I have been to Ciudad el Este I have a picture of a car with live chickens strapped to the top with bungy cords!
We visited the School of Tomorrow there. Do you know it?

We had ferries where I lived in North Carolina. They freaked me out a little.
