Humor me!
Allow me a moment to share some personal things of interest to my family and friends. Jewel moved into the dorm on Friday night. My son and his wife drove her there from Tampa and helped her get situated. My darling daughter in law knew I was depressed not to be able to be there for Jewel on her first school days. This is one of the down sides to being a foreign missionary, but Naomy took pictures of the entire event so that we could feel a part of it all.

Okay, that got me all teary-eyed, perhaps because I'm a bit emotional today, but more likely because I can identify!(..on the student's side, that is.)
She looks like a real sweetheart! I know you'll miss her lots. (((hugs))) to the Mom.
I saw these on Naomy's page, but I'm sure all your readers will be glad to see them here too.
I'm gonna try and call Jewel now!
What a lovely thing to do for you! Didn't that make you feel more upset, not being there?
I cried and she's not even mine! LOL It reminded me of taking Sam to college and leaving him there. Wes is taking Andrew, so I can cry at home.
It was very sweet of Naomy to take pictures for you! :)
Awwwwww
What a thoughtful daughter-in-law to take that pictorial experience for you!
AWWW, I am teary eyed!! I have to do that on Sat.....and I know I am gonna BAWL MY EYES OUT!!!!!
Praying for you!!
That is adorable. Best wishes and prayer for the new college student!
What a great idea your daughter-in-law had! Even I felt like I was there too! Well, I'm sure she'll have a wonderful year and I'm looking forward to hearing about her adventures. She will be in our prayers (and you folks too!)! Will she be heading to your son's for holidays and/or long weekends?
I have tears too. She is going to have a great year. Looks like one of her roomates is crafty. The pictures were great and gave good feel for her first day at college.
That was sweet.
okay, I was fine till the hug for Mom.....
sniff
sniff.
Great story told with pictures. I can relate to this as you know with my middle son off to college. he loves it now, after 2 weeks and your daughter looks very happy. How sweet of them to take photos. You must be a proud mom.
Tammy, It is hard but I know she is ready for this next step in her life.
Pam, Did you get a call through to her?
Gecko, I was glad to see the pictures. Having a sort of mental picture of where she is does seem to help me.
Susan, I know all mothers can relate to this! Naomy is a treasure and we are glad she is family!
Kimberly, Aww... and I hear you will have a daughter making a big change soon too!
Barbara, Naomy is a truly sweet and kind person. We love her.
Pat, where is you daughter going?
Sara Joy, Thanks for the prayers. Soon it will be your little ones. It happens so fast!
Kathy, She will be able to visit Josh and Naomy some as well as her Uncle and family who lives 3 hours away. Jackie and Brian might be able to fly her up there for a holiday too as they have some airline vouchers. Jewel will not be able to come home for Christmas so we are glad she has family stateside at least this first year.
Joy, Yes, her room mate seems to be a thoughtful person too!
Glenn, Thanks!
MM, me too!
Gutsy Writer, yes,it is good to know they are happy, isn't it?
I love it! Oh, how sweet! Excited for you guys and the new school year.
What great scrapbooking material Rita! The pictures are awesome...aren't daughters-in-law wonderful? :-)
My daughter's still here for one more week... then back to school.
*Sniff*
Awwww I remember those days of leaving my Mommy! I went to PCC and she didn´t get to take me down. I remember we had already balled our eyes out the whole year going up to it so when the day came we didn´t cry too much but what got me crying was the look on my Dad´s face as my Room mate and I drove away.
I can´t imagine what it´s going to be like with my own someday. Maybe with boys it´s different.
What a cute post! So touching!
BTW... the 30 Day Shred is an exercise DVD by Jillian Michaels. It´s 20 min. of hard strength, cardio and abs work out.
the down side is that Jillian doesn´t know how to wear a normal shirt. sooo I do my workouts when the boys are out or asleep.
I'm sure it must be incredibly hard to say good bye to children as they move onto a different life stage! But I loved the pictures. Isn't it a blessing to have the ability to keep in contact so quickly now via the internet?
That good bye picture would make me have tears in my eyes!
