Drama

We home schooled our children while living in the jungle. It was always a challenge to make the experience a full and memorable one. One of the things we did was to allow our children to perform for us.

These particular photos are from a major event. I'm sorry you missed it! We had been watching a lot of the old musicals and the children decided to write and perform one for us. This was during the time Aunt Beth was with us, so she was the producer of this musical.

Here is the 'marquee'.

'The Palm Roof Musical'

The was the famous 'History Rap' by Joshua and Jackie !
( Quite hilarious! They wrote a rap incorporating all the facts from their latest history unit. We decided we were not very good at rapping.)

'Singing in the Rain'

'Run, Eliza, Run'
(The King and I)

Jewel performs 'Matchmaker' from 'Fiddler on the roof'.

Pre teen Jackie, not sure what she was performing.
Just trying to look cool.

"We stick our necks out for no one!"
( a quote from 'Casablanca')

Even the youngest is included.

The rap picture is hilarious. I've never heard of a Baptist rapper-it's no wonder. Did the whole town come out and enjoy?

Sounds like a great time. I love the photo with the heads peering out of the curtain. Very "I Love Lucy" / "Brady Bunch"

You shoulda taken the show on the road...

I've always told my kids that you don't need tv or the internet to have fun.

And I thought it was just my family who did things like that. I guess that many do.

Thanks for sharing.

Joshua certainly had a good rapper expression, though!

Right now I'm reading a book called "Called to Die" by Steve Estes. It is about an American linguist, Chet Bitterman, who was a martyr for Bible translation. Ever hear of him? I think of you and your family when I read this book.

Everyone is always welcome -
especially you - to quote
anything from 'T&H' anytime.

Mighty cute kids!!!

Your children have no doubt grown up chock full of wonderful memories.

Truly, I love reading about your life in the jungle, and hope y'all publish a book very soon!
