We had tarantulas that would crawl under the not-tight front door and just saunder across the floor. I didn't like them! This was in Arkansas. We also had scorpions - I can do without either!
Oh yuck! We have those in south Texas. We were there for a mission conference and we poured water down the holes to get them to come out. Some missionaries actually took some of those furry critters home with them.
Nice furry little guy to wake up to. Regarding yesterday's posting on the blahs of blogging I rolled while reading it. I felt like the cartoons were written about me. Thanks for the visit at CO.
Ew! We had one of those in house in Lebanon a couple of times. Both have joined the church triumphant. (Assuming they were both believers that is. ;) )
We have these guys...not as bothersome as the black widows...Bill has created a mantra for the kids that as soon as they could learn it he taught it to them..."a good spider is a dead spider"...
as he cannot stand spiders...I am not bothered by the spiders(just the snakes(ugh) Jennifer
Like all guys, I would first ignore it completely until my wife insisted that I remove him to spider heaven. She says a good spider is a flat spider. Where are my clod hoppers ?

Was this a visitor to your jungle home?
I think I would have fainted if I saw something like this so close to my door.
Mercy!!!
tarantulas visited frequently, some much larger than this one.
Eeeeeeeeeeewwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww!

AaaAAAAaAAaaAa!!!!!! (That is a shaky scream!)
I grew up in West Texas and tarantulas were just a part of the landscape but that one was way bigger than the Texan ones.
If that showed up at my door you would have heard the scream in the States.
My daughter is deathly afraid of bugs.
He was definitely bigger than the one we found attending my daughter's Sunday School class!
I've never had one of THOSE show up at my door, but I've had some pretty creepy people show up. LOL

Rita, your blog continually makes me praise the Lord that He called us to Canada! LOL
Ahhhhhhhhhhh!!!!

The only time I've seen one of those is in captivity. No wild tarantulas for me, thank you.
Oh fun!
What did you name him?
Never mind I'll name it.
Hmm....
His name is henceforth Mercy.
In honor of what mountain mama said lol
TARANTULA!? How the heck do you get him to LEAVE?!!!

tarantula's are pretty cool and a little spooky, wait til you come across a Gila Monster in the desert!
I'd need a hoe to take that one on, or a baseball bat. But a shotgun with no.7 shot would probably be better. Stand off capability, you know.
Big hairy creepy. Sort of like a Mass. senator I know. But how about poisonous?

Wow, wouldn't want him coming home for supper every day.
SCREECH!
Found my way over through the CBO... What an introduction! :o)
I think I've been teaching too long. When I saw the photo, I immediately thought "that would be great for science!"
I love Maine. I LOVE Maine. I LOVE MAINE!!!
Oh, Rita.
I just got a major case of the willies.
