4th of July

Happy Birthday America!!!!
Bring on the BBQ and the apple pie!!!

Random Thoughts on America:

The highways are SOOO smooth!

The cars are all new!

The yards are huge!

So many churches, nearly every corner here!

People are tall!!!

Truly the land of plenty!

American flags are flying and they are beautiful!

Food servings are disgustingly large!! ( Served on family size platters! Not plates!)

No walls around the yards and no bars on windows!!! ( Either the thieves are stupid or, as my husband says, They already have everything we have!)

I love the GREEN money! And coins that are heavy!

Libraries!! Wonderful places!!!!I could live in one!

Public restrooms are fairly clean!

GAS!!!!!! Is expensive!!!!

God Bless America is written everywhere!

And the best...
NO BILLBOARDS OF HUGO CHAVEZ!!!!

Nice list of things that tell how it is for you to return and "see" things again.

aren't we spoiled? see? Look at the things we never really notice?

HAHA the public restrooms are FAIRLY clean?? Have you been to a gas station potty yet?? j/w? LOL

Yes, gas basically costs you your firstborn child now...it's sad really. but we do have many other benefits that you've just listed so I guess it makes up for it, right? :D

YOur "culture reentry" is quite a challenge....I know the thoughts you have been accustomed to....I know it must be a relief not to have HHH photos following your every move (or his followers in person!!)...

Welcome to America....all our problems must seem small!!

No matter the complaints, we are a blessed nation!!

"People are tall" HAHAHAHAHA!!!!
yes, in venezuela we are all 'chiquiticos'.

I envy the libraries... the lack of HHH pics, and you know what else? the HUGE parking lots at the malls!

Happy 4th! tomorrow is ours. I'll be with family, but no fire crackers here.

Welcome back to the land of the free and the home of the brave, Rita! HAPPY INDEPENDENCE DAY! :)

I'm so very glad that you are back. Yep, the people are taller and where I am there are many flags flying too, more than usual because of the day, but I always fly one in in my front yard. There are also lots of churches. Gas isn't as expensive here as it was a couple of weeks ago. The price has fallen about 15 cents a gallon, but I'm sure it will go back up again.

"The highways are SOOO smooth!" I'm sure this is true for every state in the Union except Indiana. Ours are some of the worst (that's with federal funding)! No Chavez = good thing! Happy 4th!

Welcome home.
Another reason to thank GOD for the USA is that with all our problems we are still sending more missionaries than any other country. Missionaries who are willing to do whatever God wants them to do. The Nate Saints of the world are not gone they are still doing HIS work.
Even at our small Baptist church I get 3 calls per week for missionaries on deputation.

The highways are smooth?
You've never been to Michigan, have you?
The nation's heaviest trucks and lowest road maintenance budgets, combined with harsh winters, make Israeli roads look good.
