The Container is here!
Our container has left the port in Miami and is being loaded on the truck now. Should be here by this evening . We had nearly a two month wait in Caracas and our friend who works there as a customs agent was shocked by the amount of opposition our container encountered. She has been working there for nearly 20 years and had never experienced anything like it.
They made our stuff be opened and re-packed more than once and told her it was because we were missionaries and missionaries are "known" to transport drugs. Here we go again!! Of course, every time they open the seal, it costs us money. They even made her have her picture taken along with all of our boxes. She had never had to do that before. And they knew we were missionaries and were very antagonistic. She thought that was odd. Not me!! Been there , done that, and got the T-shirt.

Maybe if you told them it was full of tools for the overthrow of the oppressive imperialistic Bush regime, they would have just let it through.
"and got the T-shirt."

Thats funny :-) Still,,, it's very odd that they would make her stand with the boxes, she's not the missionary?? , but you understand. And that may not be a good thing ;-)
I am happy to hear that you will be reunited with some of your stuff soon.
amazing how the devil can work so cleverly against His will and purpose. In the end...HE always wins!!!
The best love story ever written!
I know your feeling of relief. That feeling gets me every time I see Nikita in the Charlotte airport. Ya just never know what a government will do to get attention, good or bad.
love harry's comment!
Are you sure..you didn't hide some aspirin somewhere in a box...Just thankful that you are here and free of that regime, although I know your heart is still there..
Let us know if EVERYTHING made it..

Oh Rita, I know this is a relief for you all. Even more so once it really gets to you!!
oh and I just had to laugh when I read Harry's comment. But yet it made me sad, because so many people have such kooky ideas about our President and our wonderful country.
yay Rita always fun to have stuff back..hey did u get that pic from me?..LOL..I'm always paranoid girl!
Angel, YES! I saw it a while ago and thought!!! That's me!!!
yah....you know them missionaries......dangerous folk! ;-)
Welcome back to the greatest country on earth!
I knew I'd seen that pic before. It was over at Angels!
I'm sure they new darn well you weren't smuggling drugs and were just harrassing you. Hasn't anyone told them that isn't politically correct! LOL! As if they would care!
I just heard on Fox News that the John Doe Protection Amendment has been scrubbed by Pelosi and Reid. The idiots! Now we are in danger of being sued if we report suspicious activity. I can't begin to tell you how stupid this is and what a dangerous position it puts American citizens in.
God bless!
Very strange! Intimidation and instilling fear are hallmarks of fascist governments.
I bet you'll breathe easier when it's in your hot little hands. Aaron's passport expires on Oct. 2. We'll put it in at that time, I guess. Next thing we have to do is renew the kids' cedulas. *heavy sigh*
cara, we renewed our cedulas in one day in Barqui. Wasn't too bad. Do be careful about the passport. Our friends ended up deported. After a year and a half of trying to renew their kids passports, they left as Canadians. Now they have lost their dual citizenship even though the mother is Venezuelan. Can only re enter with a visa and , well, you know about no one getting new visas.
For my tocayita,
don't wait till that date!!! Begin TODAY (I guess monday at 9 am).
I could tell you more, if you need any help, don't hesitate to write me. Rita has my mail.

See, if you would just behave yourself, conform to the program, and stop spreading the gospel, you wouldn't have to face all the harassment.
But then you wouldn't go to heaven either.
