Life Goes On!

We are in need of some R and R!

In spite of what is happening, we will continue with our plans to get away and regroup.

Taking a Little Break!!

We will be leaving town this morning and spending two days way. Seven BIMI missionary families will be together for a time of renewal and fellowship. I am not sure if I will have access to internet until our return.

It has been 3 weeks since my surgery and although I am healing well, I am still not 100% so please pray for me on the road trip.

My son and his "friend" Naomy are having a great time on their visit. We have enjoyed getting to know her better. Friday night, my blond, blue eyed, Venezuelan son had Mariachis come to the house and serenade her. I will post pictures in a few days. They were on the balcony as the Mariachis serenaded from the back yard. Naomy was very surprised! It was very romantic!!! I think Josh must have some latent Latin blood in him!!

Another funny thing, Naomy is a Latin girl , her family is from El Salvador, but she was born and raised in California. We have been taking her around to see all the sights and everywhere we go the people think SHE is OUR guide and try and get her to translate for us gringos!!

Since I may not be posting for a few days, I want to share some links to some of my older posts that new readers may enjoy.

Be safe, relax and fellowship my sister! I wish I could come with you, cause I could use some good fellowshipping with my sisters and brothers in Christ.

What a romantic you have! Poor girl... if she does not end up in your family, some guy has a tough standard to follow! You and hubby did good in raising him!

Be safe and we look forward to hearing from you when you return!

I hope you get some well deserved rest, Jenn.

Here it is memorial day and I just heard about Chavez closing down the most popular tv station in Venezuela and replacing it with a socialist station. Why in the world did the people elect this tyrant? I hope everything will be alright for you down there. Right now people are rioting in the streets. Stay safe!

I'm glad that you are doing better. I told you the Lord will always watch over his sheep. I will always say a prayer for you as I consider you my sister in Christ.

Rita,
You are in my prayers, dear lady! Even though I don't know you personally, I appreciate you and your family so very much. I will continue to pray for your recovery and may you have a wondeful time of fellowship and relaxation over the next few days. ((hugs))

Rita - I do not get Fox News because we have Dish Network basic and don't pay extra for it. A friend of mine just e-amiled me the following:

"There was a new headlline in Yahoo news about the TV station being shut down. Says there are other freedom of speach stations in Venz. but none that reaches all the country... The article also indicated that this station had all sorts of far out stuff.. Lots of sex, soaps, just about anything that would irritate Chavez."

Is this correct or is it a lie?

Your son does sound very romantic. Isn't it sweet to see them do things like this. My oldest son was like this and it pleasured me tremendously to see the things he did for his sweet wife.
I'm so glad you are having a get-away. And especially to have time with your Missionary friends. You will pray together and strengthen one another.
God Bless you all!!!

Subject: Por principios y táctica, pedimos revocar decision sobre RCTV
Date: Fri, 25 May 2007 22:40:41 -0600

Excelentísimo Presidente
Hugo Chávez Frías
Presidente de la República Bolivariana de Venezuela
Palacio de Miraflores
Caracas, Venezuela

A. (RCTV)".

Atentamente.
