The Twilight Zone!

I feel as if I am living out one of those old episodes of the Twilight zone! If I stay in my little safe place...I can almost pretend all is well here. But, it isn't. Freedom is dying a little more each day. What many are realizing now,is that ,it is a little late to do much about it. The military is with the President., the police, the courts, the assembly, and the people are not left with many options.

But, we are still fine. Staying in our own little zone. I do ask prayer as my husband must travel tonight and tomorrow.

What is most bizarre to me...I check the USA news, and all I see is stuff about Lohan, Sheehan, Paris Hilton... is that really news worthy? Is that all people really care about? How about the 182 students arrested here for protesting? What about the minors who were yanked from their parents and detained here in Venezuela? What about the shooters roaming the streets?

I hear the theme music of the Twilight Zone.......

You're right about the news here. The media fills our heads about celebrities all the time. Who cares? They're afraid to share anything that might be of actual interest of things going on around the world.

I'll pray for your hubby!!

That is our same question, Rita. It's like our own press here is not really reporting the important things and are hung up on all the trivia. "For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noah entered into the ark, and knew not until the flood came, and took them all away; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be." Matthew 24:38 & 39

I was hoping that you were doing well. This can't be the best time to be an American in Venezuela.

You're absolutely correct in your evaluation of what is called "News" today. Fox ran an entire hour dedicated to Rosie's last hours at The View.
Is that really News?
Paris Hilton goes to jail?
Celebrities going to rehab?
There is a war going on in Lebanon that has hardly been covered. Israel is being shelled on a daily basis...not covered.
Demonstrations in Venezuela..very little.
It's a joke.

JM, Mom is in Caracas (on the east side...hopefully Iris' people don't "obey" her)...Dad is out of town. She didn't go to church last night since the church is in Pza. Venezuela, hot spot always. There were demonstrations last night in little La Victoria (and circulos bolivarianos too). Only the "manifestantes" had police close. I find that interesting! Matt is out of town now too. Hope things don't get too interesting with Matt and Dad out of pocket!

Cara' Clint will be near you tonight and preaching in Maracay on Saturday and Sunday, if you need anything, give him a call on the cell!

My friends in tiny little Ciudad Bolivar called and said it is really bad there. No gas and no food and LOTS of protests.

I recently stated in my blog, I seldom if ever watch TV. One of the reason is that I am disgusted with the media. This sounds a lot like a conspiracy rant, it's not. I truly believe they have an agenda, so only report what they want you to hear or the way they want you to hear it. Yes I care about Lindsey Lohan. I'm thinking what a waste. She is for better or worse a role model for so many young girls. I see our freedoms being whittled away here as well. Slowly. Your world is a taste of ours to come. Wake-up people.

Please stay safely, out of the current fallout. Our prayers are going forth daily on your behalf.

I think FOX News is the only MSM station here taking the story seriously. But don't worry, many of us here in the State's will do what we can to get the news out with newmedia. G_d Bless and keep you and the Venezuelan people safe.

May I add you to my prayer list on my blog? It's okay, if not. I will be praying for you and your husband anyway. May God protect you and bless you for your faithfulness.

Thanks, Rita! I must admit I'm a little nervous...it's so touch-and-go! I heard through the grapevine--you'd be surprised, I think--where your r & r was! Watch out...maybe H to the third power knows too! =)

I've been keeping up with what news on Venezuela American news actually shows...and it's certainly not getting any better...
I mean, I heard stories about events. But now that I've seen protests on television, and photos, it really frightens me about what you all are in right now. Thank God he's kept you all safe!

And I'll be praying for Uncle Clint's safety!

Hmm... Now I am scratching my head! how and where did you hear that?!?!?

Do you have Clint's cell? I at least have lots of "family " here around me! Too bad you did not join us for some R and R !!

JM, about ciudad Bolivar... you said no gas? gasoline or gas for cooking?

That part of the country is so far away, is very hard to report the news for them.

Liz, Cuidad Bolivar has no cooking gas. Lots of food shortages because everything has to get trucked down there.

I think the media promotes Paris and those like her because their understanding is darkened by the god of this world..Satan. We don't give a hoot about the Hollywood news but its sad how many do seem unduely interested. May God bless you & your family with his constant protection...

Chavez can take away the RCTV....but he can't take away the video cell phones, and .....YouTube.

Venezuelan bloggers unite! Chavez is looking more and more foolish each day, lets just hope and pray the media will listen to the bloggers and YouTubers!

Jungle Mom, be safe, everytime I read, see the happenings in Venezuela, I do think of you all down there.

>> "Some internet sites are now being blocked. We knew this would happen as well."<<

Remember last week in my Dodo Birds post I said there was an "unknown" country logging into my site. Of course I knew from our exchanges that it had to have been Venezuela. What I did not report is I have had hits from all major world playing countries. Russia, shows up; China shows up. But no hits from a muslim country with Sharia law or Cuba. So I agree, more internet sites will be shut down in Ven. - like in Iran and Syria and ......

Prayers for protection, safety and sanity.

How true of your title "The Twilight Zone".

The media and press appear to have other thoughts - 'Celebrities' - we have the same problems here too - whilst important news goes un-reported!!

All I can think of to encourage you is "Under His wings, I'm safely abiding..."

You are close in prayer!!

Add my prayers, too, JM - may God be with you and yours. Twilight zone indeed - I wouldn't know about any of this right now were it not for you.

Is it not amazing that one human can wield so much power? And the people lost their voice and freedom in the election.....

A controlling tyrant!!

Close to our hearts in prayer you and the family remain....
As well, we are praying for all the missionaries and the Indians who need you!!

Jungle Mom: I wonder what will happen if Chavez orders the troops to shoot to kill their own people. I understand that the last time he did that, the military forced him out. They should not have allowed him back in.

If he gives that order again, it will be up to the military as what they will do.

I can't say so for sure, but I think I heard something on Fox News yesterday that The U.S. may be offering some assistance to the protesters. Exactly what, I am not sure, as I was doing my blog post at the time and was only half aware of what was being said on the TV.

Rita Loca said...

abouna; it is already happening! I don't think the military will turn on him . The US , CIA is being accused of funding the protests. I don't think that is the case.
A lot of people, young people, realize they are losing their future.

Rita--I am praying for you and your family. Please be safe.

And as far as the media here in the US--it is truly a sad commentary on where we are as a country. : (

Praying, praying! I love the hymn Pat quoted from. Our media is sickening! I will stand up for FOX news here though, as the past few days they have mentioned Venexuela and have had ambassadors, etc on discussing it.
