Seems as though everyone on the low/no carb diet loses a BUNCH , but always even puts more back on when they return to different eating!! I heard the body stores them then because God made it to have carbs, and it goes into a shock pattern to store them then.
Everyone says cut out the fats....that is the issue...also, my mom's Dr. told her to eat no more than 45 carbs a day to lose and 65 to maintain....
I hear the South Beach is bad (nothing white---sugar, flour, potatoes, etc....)....that you get gastrointestional issues with it, so....even after you stop it takes a while for th body to readjust....
So, short of doing a juice fast for a day or two to detox and then veggie s and fruits with sensible fats (do not take out the meat!!), then add walking and you got it!!
(I have lost a few #'s---I cut back on eating late (a force since hubby works late) , and jsut walk more and DO NOT FORGET LOTS OF WATER!!!)
I have allergy issues, so I need to, for my health stay away from anything mold like or yeast based... breads, yogurts, aged cheeses.... but that is me and my health issues.
I personally like South Beach. And have no GI issues.
Most diets do work. It is when we go back to the same old habits that we put the weight back on!
I have a weight problem, my doctor says I don't have any (weight). Of course he also said that I have a real strong heart beat, but he was wondering when the next one was.
My diet consists of sea food. Everytime I see food I eat it.
Weight watchers... It is a like style change. I have been on it 5 wks and lost 5.8 lbs. The results are slow sometimes but prayer and perservance will win. You can do a lot of info online too (www.weightwatchers.com). I feel that I am not deprived of anything and really don't feel like I am on a diet.
I have to agree with missy! My sister who has zero will power is always on the Weight Watcher's program and loses lots of weight! She can eat her favorite foods just smaller portions...go with Weight watchers
Heeyyyy Jungle Mom... I think me and my hubby need to joing the wagon with you... SERIOUSLY. To much of the happy life of couch potatoes...
Our problem is (besides eating habits) is that we changed schedules and now it has been impossible to exercise... that have hurts us a lot... we'll see... we used to do hiking like 3 times a week... now zero... not even a walk on the park... we feel sooo lethargic... we need to beat this monster soon otherwise he will!
Oh, I am RIGHT there with ya sister! Only I am still nursing so I use that as my excuse right now! Seriously though, I need to be exercising. Here is a good book that I am reading. You On a Diet. It looks VERY doable.
You wouldn't want to hear about my diet, but it works (if you do it, of course!). I've lost 13 lbs. since starting it...actually I HAD lost 20 lbs., but got so sick of it that I've gained back 9! Hitting it hard again though!

Tips?
How much do you weigh? How much do you exercise? What's your daily caloric intake?
