Good idea! For some reason though, none of the photos were visible to me. *sad face*

Finally, I have the time to comment. I read every morning but usually don't get a chance to comment. Praying for your safety (and everyone else in Venezuela) every morning, hope to see you soon.

This is SO weird. The Cosbys are in my basement as I write this. I am taking them to the airport this afternoon for their return trip to Venezuela and the Herrins are our friends too!!!! I have heard Carol mention your names to us.
I am glad to 'meet' you through your blog. Maybe when we are in Barquisimeto in June, I can meet you in person!
Blessings to you and your family as you minister for Christ in a land my husband and I love dearly!

Rita, you have a beautiful family!
I only have one son... so I always "envy" the mothers of girls (in a good sense, you know).

I cannot teach sewing, crochet or my silly country painting to a boy! Well, he loves reading.. and is a very quiet and loving son, no complaints here.

Keep up the good work, you are doing it great as a mother and wife.

Un abrazo, Liz

In this short time, I feel as though I have known you forever. When I come here it is like visiting a friend. I get so very much from reading all your posts. I am blessed by doing so. Thanks, Jungle Mom. connie from Texas

Quite a story. You have lived a very interesting life.
Do I speak Spanish? Very little, I can get by but it's not easy.
I read Spanish much better. I used to teach school in Hialeah Florida (part of Miami) and my wife was Cuban plus a Spanish teacher.
I wish I was fluent.

I'm interested to see if you get more people commenting. It's a great idea. I'll go along and think no one is reading my blog and then someone will tell me they read it everyday, and then someone else tells me the same thing. But most say they are afraid to comment. I try to encourage them but, alas, many of my readers are afraid something awful will happen to them if they do. And many say my blog is the first one they've ever read. Perhaps time will change all that.

I am not delurking...that happened a while back! This is such a good idea. I must work out how to do those back linky things. It is great for new readers.

Rita, this was a wonderful post. I'm so glad I got to know you and your family better. And I am in AWE of what you guys are doing!! And I'm glad the pictures came through -- to put names to faces AND to see that incredible waterfall. WOW.

God bless you in your work!

I'm not a redhead (except when my part gets sunburnt), but I'm pretty well whacked too.

I just celebrated my 25th anniversary with Mulletman (a nurse and the hot drummer on our church's worship team), I have 4 children: Funsocksgirl 23 (She's newly wed to J-Man), Bonehead 21 who is the father of 3 beautiful children, but is sadly (VERY sadly) in the midst of a divorce, Girly-Girl 7 and Silly-Head 5, both of whom we homeschool.

I sing, I write, I teach, and I am currently training for a long, tortuous biketrek to raise money for the American Lung Association.

I have sent in an application to OM for long-term missionary work, but Mulletman only got his half done and then got distracted by "life". We are struggling with the issue of leaving behind aging parents...

Nice to meet all your family. Know your proud of all them. What a blessing to have them all follow in the Lords work. Wish mine were but I know that I did not give them the training they needed when they were home. Only have 1 out of 4 who serve the LORD. God bless you and your family as you serve in a hostile enviroment. I appreciate all of you!!!! Don
